At a glance
- Your bills, payments, transactions, accounts, budgets and categories are stored only on your device. There is no account or sign-up, and we do not run servers that receive this data.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple. A subscription-management service (RevenueCat) checks whether Premium is active, using an anonymous ID.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads are personalized only if you allow tracking (and, where required, give consent). Premium removes all ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or other tracking tools of our own.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how the iOS app Bill Organizer & Tracker (for iPhone and iPad) handles information. The app is published by Metkolabs (“we”, “us”). If you have any question about this policy, contact us at info@metkolabs.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter in the app — bills and their schedules, payments, income and expense transactions, accounts and balance history, budgets, categories and your settings (such as currency, appearance and reminder time) — is saved in the app’s private storage on your iPhone or iPad.
- You do not need an account, and the app has no sign-up or login.
- We do not operate servers that receive, store or sync your financial data, and we cannot see it.
- If you have turned on iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, iOS may include the app’s data in that backup. Those backups are managed by Apple and by your own settings, not by us.
3. App Lock and Face ID
You can protect the app with a 4-digit passcode and, optionally, Face ID or Touch ID.
- Your passcode is not stored as entered: the app stores only a one-way hash of it in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- Face ID and Touch ID are handled entirely by iOS. The app only receives a “success” or “failure” result; it never accesses your face or fingerprint data.
4. Reminders and notifications
Bill reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device by iOS. They are not sent through a push-notification server, and no notification content leaves your device. You can turn notifications off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.
5. CSV export
You can export bills, payments and transactions as a CSV file. The file is created on your device and shared only when you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet (for example Files, Mail or Messages). What happens to the file after that depends on the app or service you share it with. We never receive a copy.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, Apple ID, or payment card details. Apple’s handling of your data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
To check whether your subscription is active and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription-management service. When the app connects to RevenueCat, it receives:
- an anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat (not linked to your name, email or Apple ID by us);
- purchase and App Store receipt information (for example product, purchase and expiry dates, transaction IDs);
- basic device and app information (for example device model, iOS version, app version, country/storefront, and the IP address of the request).
This information is used only to validate purchases, provide Premium and, as described below, measure Apple Ads campaigns. It does not include any of your bills or other financial data. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple Ads attribution
To learn which Apple Ads campaigns (ads in App Store search results) lead to installs and subscriptions, the app uses Apple’s AdServices framework through RevenueCat. iOS creates an Apple attribution token on your device; RevenueCat sends it to Apple, which answers whether the install came from an Apple Ads campaign and, if so, which campaign. RevenueCat links this to the anonymous app user ID above so we can see campaign results together with subscriptions. The token is not your advertising identifier (IDFA), and this attribution does not require your permission to track; if you have allowed tracking, Apple may return some additional campaign details. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and the Apple Privacy Policy.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from the app’s Settings.
7. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows ads provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Ads appear as full-screen ads at natural breaks (for example after saving a bill) and as optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch to unlock a feature once. There are no ads in Premium.
When the app requests or shows an ad, Google may collect and process:
- device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, and other device or app identifiers;
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general (coarse) location;
- ad interaction and usage data (for example ads viewed and tapped);
- diagnostic and performance data (for example crash and loading information).
Google uses this data to deliver, measure and improve ads and to prevent fraud and abuse. The app does not share your bills, transactions, accounts, budgets or any other data you enter with Google. To learn more, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
8. Your advertising choices
App Tracking Transparency (all users)
The app asks for your permission before your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used. If you allow tracking, Google may show you personalized ads. If you do not, the IDFA is not available to the app or to Google, and ads are non-personalized or based on context. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google’s consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads can be used, so you can accept, reject or manage your choices. You can review or change them later in the app under Settings › Ad privacy choices.
Remove ads
With an active Premium subscription, the app shows no ads, stops requesting ads, and does not show the ad consent or tracking prompts.
You can also manage Google ad personalization in My Ad Center.
9. Data we do not collect
We (Metkolabs) do not collect, receive or store:
- your bills, payments, transactions, account balances, budgets, categories or notes;
- your name, email address, phone number or contacts;
- precise location, photos, camera or microphone data;
- bank logins or connections to your bank (the app does not connect to banks);
- Face ID or Touch ID data;
- analytics or crash reports through tools of our own.
The only third parties that receive data from the app are Apple, RevenueCat and Google, as described in sections 6 and 7.
10. Children
The app is a personal finance tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it where we are able to.
11. Data retention and deletion
- Your app data stays on your device until you delete it. Use Settings › Reset all data in the app to permanently delete all bills, payments, transactions, accounts, budgets and settings; this also turns off App Lock (removing the stored passcode hash) and cancels scheduled reminders. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Copies in your iCloud or computer backups are kept according to your backup settings.
- Reset all data does not change your Premium subscription, your ad consent choices or your tracking permission; manage those as described in sections 6 and 8.
- Purchase data held by RevenueCat and Apple, and advertising data held by Google, are retained according to their own privacy policies.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete or port it, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent (for example under the EU/UK GDPR), or the right to know, delete and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising (for example under the California CCPA/CPRA).
- Because your app data stays on your device, you can view, edit, export and delete it yourself in the app at any time.
- To opt out of personalized ads, deny or turn off tracking in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and, where offered, use Settings › Ad privacy choices in the app.
- For data processed by Apple, RevenueCat or Google, you can also contact them directly using their privacy policies linked above.
- For any request or question, email info@metkolabs.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, personalized advertising relies on your consent; purchase validation is necessary to provide the subscription you bought; and non-personalized ads in the free version rely on our legitimate interest in funding the app.
13. Security
Your data is kept in the app’s private storage, which iOS protects with app sandboxing and, when your device has a passcode, data-protection encryption. App Lock adds a passcode or Face ID / Touch ID check when you open the app. Connections to Apple, RevenueCat and Google use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage is completely secure, so please protect your device with a passcode and keep iOS up to date.
14. International transfers
Your app data is not transferred anywhere by us. Google and RevenueCat may process the information described in sections 6 and 7 in the United States and other countries where they or their providers operate. These companies state that they use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change significantly affects how your information is handled, we will also let you know in the app or in the App Store release notes.
